Gen Isayama is a partner at DCM, one of top tier early stage technology VC in Silicon Valley. His investment is focused on consumer internet/digital media, EC, and mobile applications. He also co-founded DCM Tokyo Office and plays key role in cross border investments as well as business developments between Pacific Rim.

Prior to joining DCM, Gen worked at Mizuho Financial Group, formerly the Industrial Bank of Japan and has extensive experience in a wide variety of areas including corporate finance, structured finance, derivative trading and market risk management. He also co-founded a web design company when he was a college student and actively helped few US based startups to enter Japanese market.

Gen is active in the entrepreneurial community and currently serves as a judge for the Stanford Business Plan competition, and also is a lecturer at Kyushu University on entrepreneurship. He is also one of most popular columnist for Nikkei Newspaper and writes article about entrepreneurship on bi-weekly basis.

Gen holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.A. in Law from Tokyo University.
