Jonathan Levine has served Rakuten for more than 12 years in a wide variety of Engineering, IT, Marketing and Operational roles. He was appointed an Executive Officer of Rakuten Group in 2008, and in 2011 he became CIO and Vice CTO of the Group. In this role, he is responsible for Customer and Corporate IT strategy and operations. Before returning to Rakuten Group, he was COO, co-President and CTO of Rakuten's affiliate marketing subsidiary LinkShare. Before that, he was on the staff of Rakuten's Office of the President, where he led the development of the company's first customer data warehouse, and was an advisor to the CTO. Prior to Rakuten, Mr. Levine was an early employee at a number of small Internet companies, including the PointCast Network, where he led the implementation of PointCast's International networks.

He previously worked at IBM, Lotus Development and Oracle. He holds several patents for his work in affiliate marketing systems and database user interfaces.
