Phillip F. Shinn is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang, the largest law firm in Korea, with over 800 legal professionals. He is currently in the firm's International Arbitration and Cross-Border Litigation Group, and has also advised companies on corporate, employment, intellectual property, and white collar criminal matters. Mr. Shinn practiced law in California for 29 years, beginning as a Staff Attorney at the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit. He has advised and represented high technology companies based in Taiwan, South Korea, Finland, and the United States. Mr. Shinn is a former president of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, the voice of the 40,000 Asian Pacific American lawyers and law students across the United States, as well as the International Association of Korean Lawyers

He was selected by the judges of the Northern District of California to serve as a Lawyer Representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, and has been named a Northern California "Super Lawyer" by San Francisco Magazine. Mr. Shinn was the recipient of the Award for Legal Excellence from the California Assembly and API Legislative Caucus. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall).
