Hiro is a Partner at Atomico, and leads investment review, negotiation, and transaction execution and oversees internal processes. He is also active in deal origination and advises portfolio companies on international strategy. Prior to Atomico, Hiro was co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of SP&W, a principal investment and financial advisory firm based in Tokyo, and founder of Triple Junction, a technology consultancy, where he advised prominent technology companies such as Skype on global strategic initiatives. With Skype, Hiro spent time working with the management team in Europe on regional/global partnership strategies for the Company.

Prior to SP&W, Hiro spent five years building the financial advisory franchise and principal investment practice for IRG, a Pan-Asian investment bank dedicated to technology, media, and telecommunications where he successfully led partnership strategy, mergers and acquisitions and cross-border financing, and was responsible for the firm’s largest exit. Hiro joined IRG from Lehman Brothers, where he worked in International Equity Research Sales. During his time at Lehman, he was involved in the sale of Pacific Internet, the first Asian Internet company to list on NASDAQ, as well as the listings of chinadotcom, Korea Thrunet and several other offerings originating from Asia. He currently sits on the board of Quid. Hiro received a BA in Economics and International Studies from Northwestern University.
