Nicolas is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for building and growing teams and businesses in the field of games, web and media.
In 1990, at the age of 19, Nicolas founded Kalisto an independent game development studio. As CEO for twelve years, Nicolas lead the expansion of the company based in Bordeaux, Paris, Austin, Los Angeles and Tokyo. Kalisto produced more than 50 titles for PC, consoles and mobiles, sold to publishers worldwide. The company went public in 1999 and employed a staff of 350 people.
Between 1994 and 1999, Nicolas also founded and managed NGM Productions, a children book-publishing company, based in Shanghai, aiming at bringing high-quality ‘edutainment’ publications to China. In 1994, he co-founded WCube, one of the first French web agency, now part of Publicis advertising group.
From 2002 to 2005, Nicolas worked for Ubisoft where he held various senior management responsibilities within the development production structure of the company. For three years afterwards, Nicolas served as Senior VP & GM of the mobile games & applications division of Cellfish Media (a Lagardere company) which he started.
Finally, between 2008 and 2012, Nicolas Gaume was the co-founder and CEO of Mimesis Republic, a 3D social games publisher for teenagers and young adults. Nicolas Gaume is the current SNJV President (Syndicat National du Jeu Video), the French video game trade association.
